Introduction
Exhibit 111 is an interactive audio game for Android and iOS mobile platforms. My experience with this type of game is zero, so I’m interested to know how it works. It puts you in the role of Alice Wells, a blackmail-stricken chief inspector who creates a compelling narrative about cops solving crime clichés.
Game

When we start the game, Narrator tells you the options and corresponding controls. Swipe right to start a new game, swipe left to load previously started games, and by swiping up you can enable or disable help for players who need narrator and swipe controls.
When you start a new game, a narrator explains how the gameplay and controls work. This tells you that Exhibit 111 is an audio game, and features basic controls without graphics. You can pause the game at any time by swiping down with two fingers, swiping right to skip the current scene and continue to the next option, swiping left to repeat the current scene, up to activate help on how to use the controls. The game saves progress automatically and tells you that for the best experience, we should use headphones, but since my phone has good quality stereo speakers, I decided to play that way.
Right after the first chapter starts, we have to make the first choice. Before making a decision, the narrator provides information about how the selection works. At these key moments, the story pauses, and we can influence the outcome of the story. To select the first option, we swipe right, to select the second option, we swipe left and to repeat options, swipe up. Very easy to understand and do.

After the next part of the game, the narrator explains how some decisions directly affect the situation you are currently in, and sometimes they require a direct answer like yes or no. Swipe right yes, swipe left no. This order remains consistent throughout the game.
Later you can choose from three options. The order of the first and second options remains the same and the third is selected by swiping down. Finally, the narrator provides the final part of the tutorial, and warns us about the consequences of our choices through the game and its results.
Voice
The audio is excellent, everything is so clear, with directional sound creating a realistic and immersive atmosphere. This 3D soundscape is made even better thanks to the brilliant voice acting. I love a good look and it’s present here. The story feels like a mix of a classic radio show and a choose-your-own-adventure book.
Final Thoughts
Evidence 111 is easy to play and understand, thanks to its design and high-quality audio that brings the great story to life making it barrier-free for visually impaired and visually impaired players. This may be my first audio game, but it left a very positive impression and I want to play more games like this, lying in bed and discovering new situations and outcomes in Alice’s story.
